Spring and Summer Events, the Fun is Around the Corner – Shaw Local

Dare I say the light is getting pretty bright at the end of the pandemic tunnel? After a successful Restaurant Week and Bridal Walk, we’re cautiously optimistic about 2022’s festivals and events.

Garage sale season is just around the corner and once again your local chamber has you covered with the Geneva city-wide garage sale. I know it’s still a bit difficult to think about outdoor activities, especially when the snow is still covering your lawn, but next month it’s the garage sale in Geneva.

Registration is easy. In mid-March, visit genevachamber.com/geneva-abc-city-wide-garage-sale/ to register for the sale, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 22 and 23. For a small fee, the Geneva Chamber of Commerce will take care of advertising, signage, an online map and a printed map which will be distributed to key locations in Geneva. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, download the form at the link above. The deadline for the early bird prize of $30 is April 7.

Why participate in the garage sale of the city of Geneva?

It’s good for your wallet.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

You get rid of clutter.

It’s great for the environment.

This is a great opportunity to spring clean and welcome hundreds of buyers to Geneva by offering the convenience of the Geneva city-wide garage sale.

Now let’s take a look at the Swedish Days Festival.

This year’s festival is scheduled for June 22-26 (note that it starts on Wednesday). Yes, there are still about 13 weeks to go, but we’re excited to give you a sneak peek at some new stuff. On Wednesday, the Swedish Children’s Choir opens the evening, then the Geneva Park district takes over, including performances by Geneva’s Got Talent semi-finalists. Thursday, Friday and Saturday we bring fantastic artists to the center stage. Of course, Carnival, Food, Craft Beer Tent, Children’s Day, Sweden Väst (new location on Campbell) and Parade are all back. And we have some surprises in our blue and yellow Swedish sleeves.

Don’t forget the 5K Run, nicknamed the Swedish Days Lopp. Runners make their mark on June 25 and revel in a morning run. Registration will soon be available on our website, genevachamber.com.
