The village of Powys ready to rock following an appeal to members of the choir

PLANS are being developed to attempt to get Crossgates residents to sing from same hymn sheet, in hopes of forming a rock choir.

Rock Choir is described as the original local and contemporary UK choir, for people who love to sing. There are no auditions and no musical knowledge required.

It’s about song, fun, community, friendship and life-changing experiences, with bands performing in over 250 cities across the UK.

And new Powys resident Sharon Hogben is hoping to have a choir at Crossgates near Llandrindod Wells.

“We have had a fantastic response to a possible choir being created at the Crossgates Community Center,” she posted in the Llandrindod Solutions Facebook group.

“To make this work, the Rock Choir team is looking for a talented musician who would be able to lead our bands. They currently have advertisements for this and other jobs on their website.

“If you know any talented musicians, please direct them to the Rock Choir office in Farnham or ask them to apply through Rock Choir jobs.

“I would love for a choir to set up in the New Year and for everyone to enjoy the Rock Choir experiences as I have for the past eight years.

“I will continue to work behind the scenes to make this operational. I will not receive any commission or gift for creating this choir, just the knowledge of being able to share my experiences with anyone who joins in the future. Please share this post with your talented musicians.

If you know someone who would make a great conductor, direct them to
