Mammography van

Assured Imaging will again be at the Orcas Senior Center this year with its mammography van on September 19, 20 and 21. Although one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, almost all breast cancers are successfully treated if detected early. Assured Imaging offers a relaxed atmosphere with friendly, professional and all-female clinical staff.

Island Hearing Health

Stacie Nordrum, Au.D., CCC-A, of Island Hearing Healthcare will be offering hearing appointments at the Orcas Senior Center on Thursday, August 25 and Thursday, September 29. Services available include hearing tests, consultations, hearing aid programs, and other hearing aid services. Consultation, cleaning and check-ups of hearing aids will be offered free of charge. Kathy’s Ukulele

Join the Kanikipila, Hawaiian to “play music,” led by Kathy Collister, Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Orcas Senior Center. The first half hour will be a lesson or two, then everyone will have a chance to play. Rock and roller at heart, Kathy has been playing for a decade and would like to introduce you to the joys of making your own music. Adults of all ages with all levels of ukulele expertise are welcome, but per Kathy’s request, please be prepared to show your vaccination record at your first session. Virtual Yoga

Chair yoga is offered virtually on Wednesdays, from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and slow yoga is offered virtually on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

A resident of Orcas for over 30 years, Susie Frank has been practicing yoga since 2009 and received her yoga teacher training from 8 Limbs Yoga in Seattle in 2016.
