Summer reading for adults
Adult Summer Reading is underway from From June 6 to August 13. We have cool programs, movies and prizes for adults. There’s something for everyone this summer at the Samuels Library! Sign up for the Summer Reading Program online at www.samuelslibrary.net or at the Adult Reference Desk for a chance to win amazing prizes. Record every book you read online or ask the reference staff to record the titles for you. You will receive one entry into our weekly raffle for every print, eBook, and audiobook you save. You can also download free e-books, magazines, videos and music from our website, so don’t miss them!
Closure of the library
Due to the 4th of July holiday, the library will be closed Monday July 4th. The library will resume normal opening hours on Tuesday, July 5.
An interactive sword and sword projection
In person. Join us Saturday July 9 at 2 p.m. for an interactive film viewing of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl! Feel free to dress up as a pirate and play a game for a chance to win a basket of prizes!

So you should join us Monday July 11 at 6 p.m. for another Bad Romance reunion special. Treat us to your favorite love books, movies, music or other media, and possibly discover new titles!
Hybrid, Virtual and In-Person. Interested in your family history? Have you done extensive research and want to be able to share your findings? Join our virtual genealogy club where novices and experts can meet and discuss different genealogy topics. This event will take place on Wednesday, July 13 at 6 p.m.
Summer Reading Crafts for Adults: Sea Glass Mason Jars
In person. Join us Saturday July 16 at 2 p.m. for a craft session where you can decorate your own mason jar with ocean tones and colored glass.
Books and Beyond: Evening Discussion
Virtual. Do you like talking about books? Join our adult book club where every month we discuss a different interesting read! For the month of May, we will discuss binti by Nnedi Okorafor. This meeting will take place virtually on Monday July 18 at 6 p.m. This group meets every 3rd Monday and Wednesday of the month.

In person. Do you like talking about books? Join our adult book club where every month we discuss a different interesting read! For the month of June, we will discuss binti by Nnedi Okorafor. This meeting will take place in person on Wednesday, July 20 at 10 a.m. This group meets every 3rd Monday and Wednesday of the month. The morning discussion is now in person at the library.
Author Event with Todd Denick
In person. Join us Tuesday July 26 at 6 p.m. as author Todd Denick discusses his book It will come. It will come is the true story of a former sled dog driver and teacher from Alaska who learns that surviving sepsis (which he contracted in Germany) was harder than anything he had experienced in the wilderness from Alaska. The book is about Todd’s inner strength and his continued determination to get his life back. He also describes how his wife and son were seriously affected, while contributing, in a major way, to his continued recovery.
